Rev. Jeffrey R. King is Cornerstone’s founding and current Pastor. He and his wife (Winn) of 32 years are natives of Cedar Rapids, IA and make their home in Mediapolis. They have two grown children and two grandsons.
Jeff has spent his entire professional career, spanning 40 years, in full-time Christian ministry. This has included both church and para-church ministry experience in a variety of settings: Protestant Hospital Chaplain at an inner-city hospital in Chicago, Senior Pastor of churches in Phoenix and Iowa, on the national staff of Youth for Christ/USA as a Regional Field Associate, and in roles such as Pastor of Adults and Executive Pastor at a mega-church in Tempe, Arizona for eleven years.
Jeff is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute (Pastoral Ministries), Trinity College (BA, Biblical Studies & Theology), Wheaton Graduate School (MA, Educational Ministries) and has finished all but a dissertation for a Ph.D. in Organizatinal Leadership at Capital Bible Seminary/Lancaster Bible College. He is a published author in various magazines, journals, adult curriculum, and a text-book contributor.
His deep passion for discipleship and leadership development in the local church has led him to consult other churches, conduct seminars and conferences, and make numerous trips to Indonesia to teach in various theological schools and train village pastors and church planters under the auspices of Indopartners mission agency.
