Cornerstone Community Bible Church held its first public worship service on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in the back room of the 61 Chop House restaurant. That autumn day, fifty-seven adults and nine children ventured out in faith to plant a new Bible-believing church in Mediapolis, Iowa. Many of the founding members came from another church in town.
Only two weeks earlier, Rev. Jeffrey King had accepted a call to come from Cedar Rapids as the founding Pastor. All of the leaders and many of the people already knew Jeff from attending seminars he taught on discipleship during the previous three years. Their association with Jeff and timing to launch out could not have been anticipated until God’s hand directed all paths.
Today, we are a growing congregation located in our own building. We have recognized biblically qualified leadership and started many new ministries. We believe God has blessed us in our obedience and pray for his direction and will as we move forward in faith.
